Cosima digs into the origin of the “creature” in the woods, and she discovers something unique about his DNA. Delphine returns from her travels, and she and Cosima must confront how quickly they've fallen back into their old relationship patterns. Meanwhile, Sarah follows Helena's advice and starts being more forthcoming with Kira, who in turn will explain the connection she feels with the clones.

Cosima & Delphine

• Flashback to post 1×10/pre 2×01! (Good! Because we were wondering about that!) Their relationship was established as Delphine doing all she can to protect Cosima and Cosima defying the people who created her by retaining the qualities that make her her.
• Kris feels conflicted. They acknowledged the unhealthy dynamic of their relationship…but accepted it?! Delphine is still sneaking around but now with Cosima’s permission(?)
• Delphine continues to play double agent, giving up some of Cosima’s secrets in exchange for gaining Westmoreland’s trust (and permission to go to Geneva to meet Felix)
• Cosima looks fantastic in a tux because “frock that.” She and Delphine seemed to be low key enjoying themselves at that awkward dinner party.
• Cosima finally reveals some information about her parents! Sally and Gene, who are professors who live on a houseboat. She hasn't told them she is sick because then she would have to tell them everything.
• The dinner party emphasized what separates Cosima and Delphine from the other scientist figures — they see the “test subjects” as people, not just means to an end.
• Susan tried to drive a wedge between herself and Westmoreland/Coady, but we see you, Susan. You're not, in fact, much better.)
• Cosima confronts Westmoreland about Yanis, and is now the one trapped in Westmoreland’s basement. (Clone Club parity?)

The Creature & His Leda Connection

• Yanis, a Latvian orphan, who showed remarkable healing capabilities
• Susan synthesized his LIN28A gene to include in the Leda genome. LIN28A is thought to regulate the self-renewal of stem cells.
• In the Leda clones, the LIN28A gene did not self-regulate and causes the prion disease, but it has been effectively expressed in Kira (and Helena's twins), the unexpected second generation.
• Now Rachel wants Kira's eggs to create a new generation of clones. Because she is terrible. (SHUDDER)

Susan, Rachel & Ira

• Rachel receives a treatment for the prion disease, but what about Cosima?!? We see her cough in this episode.
• Pinching Susan’s knife wound. Rachel is SUCH A JERK.
• But she looked great for the dinner party. Cosima's presence, and the scientist's interest in her, seemed to bring out Rachel's jealousy again, at least a little bit.
• Ira is glitching, and Cosima knows.

Sarah & Kira

• Sarah’s letting Kira in on the Clone Club details in exchange for teaching her about the clone connection! (awww)
• Cosima's codename is Starfish, Helena is Shark, Rachel is Elephant (because they're scared of mice), and S is home
• The triple spoons!!! Our hearts!
• But no, Kira, we're pretty sure that’s NOT how you’re supposed to pick up a spiny mouse.

Random Thoughts

• Mud tells Cosima that “all of this is happening now” because Westmoreland is sick.
• Ira makes references to “villagers” and “the creature,” and how is that supposed to be anything other than a nod to Frankenstein/classic horror?
• Westmoreland calls Cosima Delphine's “friend”…as if we didn't dislike him enough already
• Why did all of the attacked people in this episode have to be people of color? Harrumph.
