When Lauren's mentor suspects wrongdoing in a Fae prison, Bo gets herself arrested so that she can go undercover as an inmate while Lauren poses as a Fae prison doctor. Kris, Annie, and Stephanie discuss the Season 3 premiere of Lost Girl “Caged Fae” with their guest Sally, who makes awesome fandom-themed shirts over at Fangirl Shirts.

Why Did We Choose This Episode to Discuss?
- This is one of Sally’s favorite episodes. It kicked off Season 3, the first season in which Emily Andras was the fulltime showrunner.
- It was funny and even madcap at times.
- And the ending, where Bo and Lauren decide to give it a shot being in a relationship with each other! “It’s time” is a phrase that has special resonance.
Bo & Lauren
- “It’s time”
- It’s time for us
- I want to give this a real shot
- Lauren seems to do so much for Bo, takes risks
- Lauren was waiting on Bo to say let's go for it?
Prison Storyline
- Fun misdirection at the beginning of the episode with Bo behaving badly. After the Season 2-Season 3 break, where we saw Bo succubus-ing out in the Season 2 finale, it wasn’t unbelievable that Bo might have lost some control. But it was just a ruse so she could go undercover into Hecuba Prison
- Kenzi going in undercover was just the most hilarious thing
- Did Lost Girl turn the “women in prison” trope on its head? Or did it trope the trope in the usual trope way and it was fun because it was Lost Girl?
- Sylvie describes the Amazons as male-hating and abandoning their male babies
- Mystical pregnancy trope
- Liderc posing as a woman, Bo finding out with stubble and crotch grab
Dyson
- He deals with having his feelings back for Bo. How do we feel about his decision not to tell Bo that he loves her again?
- Throughout the series, the writers feature Dyson in significant Bo and Lauren moments, in a way that they don't do with Lauren in significant Bo and Dyson moments. Why?
