October 10, 2013 by Kris

A fan favorite, Alison Hendrix has had her world turned upside-down by the discovery that she’s a clone (but don’t use the c-word!).  Kris and Stephanie discuss Alison’s status as a suburban soccer mom, her paranoia and impulsiveness (and why they’re a bad combination), and her relationships.

Alison as the domestic/suburban/“normal” one

  • Introduced as being overtly hostile to Sarah and, therefore, not particularly likable
  • Seems to be most unprepared for the clone revelation
  • Craft Room of Terror
  • Alison’s mental state is revealed in the small moments – like the “standby” scene

Paranoia/Impulsiveness

  • Immediately suspects Donnie at the first mention of monitors
  • Alison is surprisingly confrontational – as when she whacks Donnie in the head with a golf club
  • Smokes a joint with Chad, then shags him
  • Lets Aynsley die – Stephanie thinks Alison may have hesitated because she thought Aynsley would use some badass monitor skills and save herself

Alison in Effects of External Conditions

Relationships

  • If Alison cares about anyone, it’s her children
  • Scenes with her kids are always fleeting (usually with Alison ushering them out a door), but affectionate
  • Respected Beth – Alison may have been able to relate most to Beth
  • We want to see what the meeting of the original clone club was like
