With help from Jules's mom Neva and a surprise visitor, Kira makes progress on discovering what Darros's plan might be for the print outs. Jules begrudgingly helps Xander who takes all of her memory drug to learn all he can about Darros. What he sees with the drug's assistance seems to change his mind about wanting to fill Darros's shoes. Lucy calls in assistance from Jack to help nurse Craig's gunshot wound, and Craig reveals some personal things about his past.
Kira & DELPHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE!!!!!!
- Stephanie's heart started pounding with excitement when she heard that off screen “Unfortunately”! Like we said, Delphine Cormier is the person Kira needed to talk to.
- Delphine brings news of Cosima: she is “not pleased” with Kira's actions and possibly no longer wears her hair in dreadlocks?
- Delphine appropriately appears in this episode which hits hard on the theme that one's origin or one's past does not have to define one's future.
- Kira takes one mysterious woman with an accent to meet Neva, another mysterious woman with an accent, who helps them access Darros's financial records. It was nice to see Neva again and to hear Jules call her “mom.”
- Kira's discovery of Darros's extensive medical records in an underwater data farm suggests that we were wrong, and maybe he did print Jules and Xander from old medical scans.
- Delphine encourages Kira to find Darros's weak spot. Is Xander's memory he had about his sister going to come into play?
Lucy & Craig
- Lucy remembers what Eleanor didn't want to tell her about her father's death — Eleanor froze? panicked? decided? not to call for help when she found her father in the bathroom.
- We finally get some Craig background! His background helps to understand his dedication to Settlement House.
- He and Lucy have a very sweet moment in which he says that he is proud of her for becoming her own person and finding her own family. (He also offers new vocabulary for the printouts, “selflings.”)
- Craig seems to be OK-ish? But maybe not out of the woods yet? Fingers crossed for Craig!
Jules, Eleanor & Effing Xander
- Jules's forthright nature is very endearing as she makes pointed comments to both Xander and Kira (“I don't like him, but I don't really think you're in the position to be leaving your scientific progeny out in the cold right now”), which featured a delightfully pointed candy bite in unison with Eleanor.
- But Jules also manages to be very kind to both Eleanor, telling her she's a good mom, and Xander, assuring him that he is his own person, despite what he remembered from Darros's past.
- Xander seemingly remembers more, but the audiences get to see a memory of Darros accepting that a misprinted printout might die. Darros puts the necklace his sister wore on him and tells him he has no idea what it's like being the one who survives.
Jack, Charlie, & Tina (and stupid Tom)
- Interesting to see how hurt Jack is when Charlie says her mom left because he wasn’t there. Maybe a conversation they never had before?
- Jack tells Lucy that he “didn't come for [her],” further hinting at his frustration with her not being ready to pick up and go. What are his feelings toward Lucy going to be after Tom kidnapped Charlie?
- Kris doesn’t like Tom, but she respects his solo pajama dance party.
- Tom says Lucy “isn't human” and that she killed a friend of his. Is Lucy not human in Tom's eyes because she is a print out? Or because he thinks she killed his friend?
- Poor Tina! But at least this is proof that she’s not a bad guy, right?
Loose Ends
- Whose medical files did Darros print?
- The mysterious “Launch Day” in Josh's calendar is in two days.
- Stupid Tom took precious Charlie.
~Echoes~
- “Enchantée.” *Stephanie swoons*
