Kris & Stephanie discuss the progression of Helena & Sarah’s relationship and some similarities between them and Leda’s twins, Clytemnestra and Helen. That’s right, we’re breaking out the Greek mythology. Also, we share some feedback from our Guest Stars episode.
Guest Stars — Episode 53
The first season had Matt Frewer and Eric Johnson. The second season had Peter Outerbridge, Patrick J. Adams, and Michelle Forbes. Now, they’ve announced Justin Chatwin, James Frain, and Ksenia Solo for the third season. Kris and Stephanie talk about the new casting announcements and make (sometimes ridiculous) suggestions for more.
Beth Childs — Episode 52
The suicide of Beth Childs is the precipitating event of Orphan Black. Why did she do it? What did she know? Kris and Stephanie discuss the endless questions we have about Beth.
Donnie & Alison Hendrix — Episode 51
Donnie gets much more of a storyline in the second season of Orphan Black than he had in the first. Kris and Stephanie talk about Donnie, Alison, monitoring, and the bond that comes with knowing where the body is buried.
Kira & Cal (& Sarah) — Episode 50
One of the characters introduced in season 2 is Cal Morrison, Kira’s father. In this episode, Kris and Stephanie discuss Kira, Cal, and their relationship, as well as their relationships with Sarah.
Rachel Duncan — Episode 49
Rachel Duncan is introduced as the “pro-clone” at the end of the first season and gradually revealed to be much more than that during the second. Kris and Stephanie discuss the antagonism between Rachel and Sarah and the parallels between Rachel and Helena, as well as Rachel’s relationships with her parental figures.
Siobhan Sadler — Episode 48
Foster mother to Sarah and Felix (and Kira), Siobhan Sadler – better known as Mrs. S – is fiercely protective and kind of terrifying. In a good way. Kris and Stephanie are joined by their guest, Susan, to talk about rifles, cardigans, meat forks, and international bada**ery.
Orphan Black vs. Dollhouse
A lot of people who haven’t watched Orphan Black say that the premise reminds them of Dollhouse. Kris and Stephanie give a spoiler-free (general themes and premise only) rundown on the similarities and differences between the two shows and explain why you might want to watch Orphan Black if you gave up on Dollhouse.
Delphine Cormier — Episode 47
Half of the fan-favorite couple Cophine, Delphine Cormier is introduced as a grad student studying immunology but is quickly revealed to be Cosima’s monitor, employed by Dyad. Kris, Stephanie, and guest contributor Caitrin talk about Delphine’s storylines in the first two seasons, her relationship with Cosima, and the issue of trust.
