My Youth Is Yours, a Supercorp fanfic written by lynnearlington, retells Season 2 of Supergirl with the backstory that Kara and Lena dated in college and are seeing each other again for the first time since their breakup. In this episode, Kris and Stephanie first offer some nonspoilery talk about why and what they like about the fanfic. Then they delve into spoilery discussion of different elements and plot points in the story.
Lena Luthor is accused of inadvertently poisoning children with her lead diffusion device, but Kara Danvers, whom she loves and who loves her, believes in her so much that Kara won’t accept that Lena could have even accidentally done such a thing. Also, Sam might be up for that threesome Lena seemed to be angling for? We’re not sure, but we think some wires got crossed, instead of, ahem, other things at the end of the episode. Kris and Stephanie discuss the Supercorp subtext of episode 3×05 of Supergirl.
Things seem to be getting (secretly) serious between Kara Danvers and Lena Luthor! Stephanie and Kris offer their takes on that look that Lena gives Kara, as well as that other look that Lena gives Kara. We’re talking about the Supercorp subtext in episode 3×04 of Supergirl. We also take a moment to talk slightly more realistically about that strange anecdote Lena shares at girls’ night and Lena offering some supportive friendship to Sam.
So many mixed signals between Kara and Lena in these first two episodes of Season 3 of Supergirl! Kara is feeling guilty about lying to Lena about her Supergirl identity, and they’re having to negotiate their new relationship as employee and boss. And Lena seems to be trying to hook up a threesome between her, Kara, and Sam? We’re not sure, but that shot sure was suggestive. Kris and Stephanie discuss the Supercorp subtext (and a little stuff that actually happened) in episodes 3×01 and 3×02 of Supergirl.
The second season of Wynonna Earp ends with some emotional moments, especially concerning the birth of Wynonna’s baby, and questions remain about Waverly’s parentage. And what are Nicole and Dolls up to? Annie and Kris discuss the final three episodes of Season 2.
Annie and Kris discuss episodes 2×06 through 2×09 of Wynonna Earp. The relationships continue to be a highlight for Annie, especially Wynonna and Waverly as well as Waverly and Nicole. However, the burgeoning friendships between Wynonna and Nicole and between Jeremy, Doc, and Dolls also have been fun to watch. Rosita and Robert Svane have shown a refreshing and different side to the Revenants.
Annie and Kris discuss the first five episodes of Season 2 of Wynonna Earp. Annie loved the WayHaught, of course, and they both enjoyed the Waverly and Wynonna interactions. However, they aren’t sure how to feel about Waverly’s demon possession or the big reveal about Wynonna in 2×05.
Supergirl’s second season has come to an end, and we discuss what worked and didn’t work for us in the final five episodes. Here’s the scoop: we really enjoyed “Ace Reporter” as well as the wonderfully different and complex older female characters who were around at the end of the season. Unfortunately, we cannot get behind the writers’ attempt to transform Mon-El into a hero, and we are disappointed that so many characters played by people of color seemed to be shuffled to the side to make room for his storyline.
Lena Luthor knows how to deal with those pesky Daxamites. For that, and many other reasons, we love her. Kris and Stephanie share their appreciation for Lena’s engineering accomplishments in the Supergirl Season 2 finale, as well as offer some suggestions to Kara regarding with whom and how she might spend her time now. This podcast episode contains ludicrous luxuriating in Lena Luthor and her (non-canonical) love of Kara. More typical episode discussion is still to come.
Kris and Stephanie share their love for Lena being so over those silly Daxamites in Supergirl 2×21 “Resist.” But we couldn’t resist talking about Daxamite fashion, which led to quite a bit of hysterical laughter. We’re very sorry. This podcast episode contains ludicrous luxuriating in Lena Luthor and her (non-canonical) love of Kara. More typical episode discussion is still to come.
